Episode #29. Our New TINY HOUSE Arrives - The Wonder of Anticipation

Our TINY HOUSE is arriving and we are meeting our NEW tiny home for the first time in this “finding wonder” video adventure! When we see our tiny house coming down the road, we are delighted and surprised… Click to WATCH the video!

We designed our own tiny house, but before this summer day, we have not yet seen our house in person. The main part of our tiny house is being built across the border in Canada, and with Covid19 international border closures in effect, we have not gotten to see our tiny home in person yet! Anticipation and excitement are at an all-time high, as we await the arrival of our tiny house here into the USA.

Here we are, taking one giant leap into creating a life in a tiny house on wheels. In all honesty, we are nervous, relieved, and very excited all at the same time. We don’t know what life is going to be like, yet we know we are going to have our very own home that is ours. With our house on wheels, we can travel to new places and wake up with changing views.

We have been watching tiny house videos, thinking up small space floorplans and learning about the tiny house movement for about 10 years. It’s easy to say that tiny wooden houses on wheels completely fascinate us!

Despite our longtime fascination with tiny houses, we never thought we could fit our work and lifestyle all into a tiny house… we are not exactly minimalists. Then our life circumstances came to a crossroads, and the most logical choice, even if a bit radical, became to make a tiny house become our home and art studio on wheels.

In the autumn season of 2019, we launched ourselves down the path of designing and getting the build process of our tiny house going. There felt like a zillion things to figure out and decisions to make… money, time and building logistics were big factors in our choices! And it’s been a lot to figure out, especially during a global pandemic.

Though here we are on a sunny day in the farmlands of Western Washington about to meet our new tiny house for the very first time. It’s been being built across the border in Canada, and with the international border closed because of the Covid19 pandemic we have only been able to see the actual building progress of our tiny house in weekly photo updates.

One of the most important elements considered throughout the design and building process of our tiny house is the use of non-toxic building materials to create the healthiest home possible. A home is meant to be a safe and inspiring place, for the heart and mind, and for our lungs, so a lot of intention has gone into selection of building materials. We will be sharing more about that as we introduce you to our house in this video and the videos to come as we work to do all the finishing work in and around our tiny house.

We are transitioning from a lifestyle based in a regular house into a TRAVELING TINY HOUSE RV. We will be working daily on all the finishing work in our new tiny house, while living in a little travel trailer. Even though we have a lot to do and a lot to figure out right now regarding the finishing work of our tiny house, we are adventurers, filmmakers, artists, dancers, teachers and writers on a mission to share wonders with the world and with you.

Creating meaningful & hopefully inspiring short films to share with the world is our passion.
